Meet the Author

Bee Nance, CPA

Author, Professor, Performer

  1. One of Bee’s favorite things to do as a kid was to watch movies over and over again and act out the scenes with her brothers and sister.

  2. Bee loves to sing, dance, and perform. She dreams of one day being in a musical where she can do them all at once.

  3. Being a mom is one of her greatest accomplishments.

  4. She writes books based on the real people in her family.

  5. When she’s not writing books, she works at a nonprofit called, Generation Teach, who works to make sure that all kids get a great education.

  6. Bee loves to laugh and tell jokes. She has a unique and quirky sense of humor.

  7. She grew up on a farm in North Carolina and had different pets: chickens, goats, sheep, cows, dogs and cats.

  8. She studied accounting at NC A&T State University (Aggie Pride!) and went on to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

  9. Her favorite color is pink.

  10. Some of her other passions include learning French, baking, and helping others in any way that she can.

Meet the Illustrator

Joseph Nance

Illustrator, Photographer, Designer

  1. One of Joseph’s favorite things to do as a kid was to draw. He liked to draw superheroes and other characters.

  2. Joseph is a talented singer. With his singing group, Adore, he once won an episode of Showtime at the Apollo.

  3. He loves being a dad to his kids.

  4. Joseph’s favorite part of his illustrations are the eyes. He loves bringing characters to life through their eyes.

  5. When he’s not drawing characters, he works for his own company, JNPS Headshots and J Nance Photography Studio. He’s also certified as an Adobe Visual Design Specialist.

  6. Joseph is an amazing music producer and runs a production service called Beats by Design.

  7. He’s from Jackson, Mississippi and is a US Coast Guard veteran

  8. He attended Chicago State University where he sang opera and studied vocal music performance.

  9. His favorite color is blue.

  10. Some of his other passions include animation, 3D graphics and fitness.
